We are very happy and grateful to welome SCOTT JOHNSON (London | Stillpoint Yoga) for the first time teaching in Cologne.
Join him for a 4 day ASHTANGA YOGA & MINDFULNESS INTENSIVE with Mysore morning classes and a weekend workshop.

As we reimagine a coming together after the last time of tenderness in the world we will take a deep look into the combined practices of Ashtanga yoga and mindfulness to see how waking up can happen now, in this time, and not some far off place in the future...

Program:

Thursday 31.03. - Sunday 03.04.
07:00 - 10:00  Mindfulness Meditation | Pranayama | Mysore

Afternoon Workshop  Saturday 02.04.
14:00 - 16:30  MOVEMENT PATTERNS - A MINDFUL APPROACH TO ASHTANGA YOGA

How do we individually approach yoga in relationship to our own lives? Can we see deeper into how our yoga practice can help us nurture the breath and movement awareness that we hold so dear?

How we notice this all play out can allow us to land the awareness of ourselves, and our physical practice, in the present moment. Again and again, This workshop will play with both breathing and mindfulness techniques in relation to movement awareness and the patterns of ashtanga yoga we know so well.

Noticing the constant and ongoing interplay between asana reference points and a mindfulness based awareness is the ground from which we can become deeply embodied in practice. We will reflect on how this can be the base from how we move in our practice and the world…

Afternoon Workshop Sunday 03.04.
14:00 - 16:30 FEELING INTO THE HIPS

The practice of yoga asks us to feel deeply in to the body and listen. We are constantly learning to notice new ways to be in touch with what’s going on within us.
The Ashtanga Yoga practice places emphasis on particular ways of noticing the body, the articulation of the hip joint being prominent.

In this workshop we will look at the patterns of the hip not only as a general movement principal but also as a unique and personal process of holding patterns that we can let go of.

We will look at how the hip opening patterns of the primary and intermediate series ask us to listen deeper to what’s going on in the whole body, not just the hips…

Scott has been director and senior teacher at Stillpoint since he co-founded it in 2009 as Stillpoint Yoga London, with the late Ozge Karabiyik. He has dedicated himself to sharing the practice of yoga each weekday morning since then.

Scott has been practising yoga since 1998, and teaching Ashtanga yoga since 2003. He’s one of only a few Ashtanga teachers to both be authorised in the primary and intermediate series by Manju Jois and be given senior teacher status by John Scott.

Scott is registered as a senior yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance UK and has also undergone extensive training with Clear Mind International, gaining their level 1, 2 & 3 certificate in Mindfulness and Compassion. Scott’s years of dedicated and committed teaching each morning has led Stillpoint to become a highly respected central London Ashtanga yoga shala.
