Scott Johnson Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training Intermediate Series

We are so excited to announce that renowned Ashtanga Yoga teacher SCOTT JOHNSON (London | Stillpoint Yoga) will be back again in Cologne!
Join him for a special 5-DAY TEACHER INTENSIVE and experience A MINDFUL APPROACH TO THE ASHTANGA YOGA INTERMEDIATE SERIES.

This training is for Yoga teachers and Ashtanga practitioners who are interested in learning more about the Intermediate series of Ashtanga yoga.

At the end of the 30 hour training you will receive a certificate of attendance. YAP (Yoga Alliance Professionals) accredited teachers will be able to register the hours as CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

Training Outline

As practitioners, we know that the practice of Ashtanga yoga is deeply moving. Over the five days we have together, we will track and discover that journey in each of us. We will explore what the practice means to us as individuals, and see this is an ongoing process; a movement from one posture to the next, one series to the next…

During this training you will discover the links between the postures of the Intermediate series and those that precede it. Together we will uncover ways to find more space and lightness throughout the Intermediate series practice.

The Ashtanga yoga Intermediate series offers a deepening of the personal inquiry that is Ashtanga yoga. Its Sanskrit name is Nāḍī Śodhana, which can be translated as ‘nerve’ or ‘channel’ cleansing.

The vinyasas and postures of the Intermediate series play with both the physical and the energetic body. It challenges the body, mind, and breath in new ways, while continuing the therapeutic processes of the Primary series.

When practising ourselves or guiding others through any sequence, such as the Intermediate series, it is worth observing how patterns arise in the body. By listening in this way, we can learn from previous patterns, and make choices around creating new ones.

What is the training?

This training will give you an in-depth understanding of the relationship between the Primary and Intermediate series, and the underlying structure of the Intermediate series.

We will look at principles of movement and alignment of the postures. We will then explore safe and effective yoga assists and adjustments built on these principles.

You will develop confidence in how to help and guide people through the postures of the Intermediate series.

Daily yoga philosophy discussions will help to contextualise the methods we use to teach Ashtanga yoga.

Who is this training for?
