ABOUT SHARATH
Sharath Shantharaju was born and raised in Mysore, India.
As a divine blessing, he was introduced to Yoga at the age of eight under Yogacharya Shantaram at Ramanashree Yoga Kendra, Mysore.
There, he practiced Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya for seven years.
Initially, he began yoga to heal from health issues, but over time it transformed into a passionate practice.
As life progressed, Sharath shifted his focus to academics, becoming a Software Engineer and working in the IT industry for ten years.
However, having opened his mind and body to yoga from a young age, he found it challenging to sustain the corporate desk-job lifestyle.
Seizing an opportunity, he took a leap of faith, left his IT career, and later, at the age of 30, was reintroduced to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga under his current Guru, Yogacharya Vijaya Kumar of Ashtanga Saadhana, Mysore.
Sharath is currently an Authorized Level 2 teacher under Vijay and has been assisting at the Mysore shala for the past six to seven years.
In addition to assisting, he has been conducting Mysore programs for the last six years both in India and internationally, including in Mexico, Guatemala, Bali, Thailand, and the Cayman Islands. He has also contributed to over 60 Yoga Teacher Training Courses (200/300-hour programs).
Apart from yoga, Sharath has been training in and teaching Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art, for the past 15 years.

WORKSHOPS
30.08.2025 Workshop Part 1 - Capoeira Movement
This is a progressive workshop of Capoeira, the Afro-Brazilian martial art.
Throughout the sessions, participants will:
- Learn and embody individual animal-inspired movements
-Combine these movements with a strong focus on fluid transitions
-Practice choreographed sequences to build ease and confidence in motion
-Explore improvisation to the rhythm of music, cultivating creativity and playfulness
-Discover the art of partnering through basic kicks, escapes, and the playful dialogue of a Capoeira game
-Receive special attention on handstands and soft acrobatics to develop strength, balance, and control
What makes this workshop unique is its fusion of Capoeira and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga — blending deep, mindful stretching with dynamic, explosive movement.
It offers a fun and energizing way to connect with your own body and communicate through movement with a partner.
31.08.2025 Workshop Part 2 - Animal Movements and Handstands
This progressive workshop draws inspiration from Capoeira movements, focusing on building a strong foundation and developing fluidity.
Participants will explore:
- Fundamental animal movements and how to transition seamlessly between them
- Choreographed sequences to gain confidence and rhythm
- The playful partner interaction that lies at the heart of Capoeira, practiced to its traditional music
With over 15 years of experience in both Capoeira and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Sharath brings a unique approach that blends deep stretching, strength-building mobility, and dynamic movement exploration.
A special focus on handstand technique will be offered throughout the workshop, helping participants improve balance, alignment, and strength.

For SY Students are the Mysore Classes and Led Class included.

Cancellation policy
A binding registration takes place on the day of receipt of payment. In case of cancellation by the participant, the following participation fees will be refunded:
- up to 2 weeks before: 80%
- In case of a later cancellation a refund is not possible.
Minimum participants: 6
If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the workshop.
